Kudos (not kudzu) to all for a valuable first gardening year. We've learned a lot and worked hard resulting in a whole range of interesting and enjoyable produce. Now let's get together for some fun and social time. On Tuesday, October 18, we'll meet at the Senior Center in Pacific to watch a fascinating movie about DIRT. Those of us who have seen it agree that we have a new appreciation for our planet's protective covering.
We will start with a business meeting at 6 p.m. to talk about transitioning our gardens for winter and planning for next year. With all the new friendships and contacts that developed around this project, we hope to see as many of you as possible, even if you do not plan on continuing next year. Your input is still important to us.
The movie will begin at 6:30 p. m. and we will have refreshments.
"Dirt: The Movie" is about 80 minutes long and very suitable for older children. There are several cartoon segments which are entertaining as well as educational. It has won several awards, especially from gardening and environmental groups. Feel free to invite family and friends. For more info, go to www.DirtTheMovie.org.
Looking forward to seeing you all on the 18th.
